Pupils often experience a range of barriers to their learning.Β  We use our funding in a variety of ways to try and remove these barriers for individuals.

Pupils experiencing emotional upsets or who have a lack of confidence and poor self-esteem often find engaging in learning difficult. Therefore we use a substantial amount of our funding on good quality therapeutic interventions (like Learning Space) and pastoral support.

By supporting the individual in this way we can either increase their engagement in school or at least limit the negative impact of any difficulties they may be having.

In turn, this aids their academic performance. Additionally we support progress and achievement directly through targeted support that is constantly monitored.

This support mostly comes from qualified teachers and sometimes from Teaching Assistants who deliver focused interventions.

Mrs Wyse leads the management of Pupil Premium funding and continuously monitors the progress and attainment of these students.Β  The Governors along with the Senior Leadership Team are reported to by Mrs Wyse regularly.

If you are a parent of a child entitled to Pupil Premium funding you are encouraged to discuss with Mrs Wyse how your child is supported.

At Woodfield School we believe in personalised learning and are keen to target support tailored for the individual.

So discussion with pupils and their parents is essential to ensuring we engage pupils and give them the appropriate support.
