British Values

At Woodfield we actively promote the fundamental British values of:

• Democracy

• Individual liberty

• The rule of law

• Mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs

And we will appropriately challenge opinions or behaviours in school that are contrary to fundamental British values.

Preventing extremism and radicalisation

Woodfield pupils are amongst the more vulnerable in society and more susceptible to manipulation, indoctrination and radicalisation – especially through social media.

In order to keep our pupils safe, Woodfield will follow our safeguarding procedures but additionally:

• Staff will undergo training to ensure they recognise extremism and are able to challenge it

• Embed the fundamental British values of democracy, liberty, law and respect & tolerance across the curriculum
